Hi, I'm Platina. I work as a full-time psychiatric mental health nurse and am studying for a masters degree in advanced practice nursing, but art has always been a hobby and passion of mine.

About Platina

I'm a hobbyist artist! I like to spend my time drawing my original characters or plot out their stories. If I'm not drawing, I'm usually playing games on my Switch or dressing up my OC ball-jointed dolls. I have a life goal of finishing at least one original comic series, though I've been too busy to work on it lately. Hopefully soon!

About the art

While I enjoy various styles of art for their uniquity, I am partial to dramatic lighting and soft iridescent color use - something I aim to capture in my own pieces.I also quite enjoy historical antique (Baroque~ Regency era) western fantasy and medical settings, which are motifs I draw upon in my stories. Vampires and angels? Doctors? Doctors trying to grasp their head around the concept of superhuman beings? I DIG. Some recurrent themes in my storyverse include choices and their consequences, acceptance, remorse, and the chance for a second try - all of which are fulfilled through complex relationships between characters of various storyverses. Recovery from emotional scarring through meaningful human interaction is also a subject I like to touch upon through my work. I am a sucker for plots that intertwine with parallelling stories, and that is exactly what happens in the Plativerse! Everyone is related to everyone else in some way, even if it may be something as trivial as visiting the same downtown cafe or having attended the same school.Though it may not be apparent in my art, I also like magical girl themes and related designs. Designing cute, elegant, and historically-inspired clothes for my OCs is something I want to do more of in the near future. I'm thinking of branching out my character diversity and theme content into more risque waters as well.If I were to sum up my art in a nutshell, it would be 'soft elegance'. I'm currently trying to go a bit further than that towards an 'ethereal' feel which I believe would suit the recurring angelic/symbolic themes I have in my original universe. It's my goal as an artist to share my characters' stories through illustration and comics! My OCs are my life passion and it makes me happy when other people enjoy them for who they are. Likewise, I love to learn about my friends' OCs and their stories. There is so much you can do with just a little OC love <3

Before you interact

  • I'm a very reserved person. I prefer to keep a courteous distance until I'm sure I'm not being cumbersome ;u; For this reason, I'm not very comfortable making jokes or play-fighting (for lack of a better term) until I get to know you better! I work better with heartful/to-the-point conversations. I'm bilingual and while I'm fluent in English, it's been a while since I've actively used it in everyday conversation so it takes me some effort to understand underlying tone in joking context (especially in written text). I don't want to misinterpret anyone's intentions, or hurt people's feelings.

  • Please refrain from self-degoratory comments/overall negativity! While I can offer empathy and positive support, it's only to a certain extent. As someone who works in psychiatry, I consult clients and it gets tiring for me to talk about negative thoughts off the job - especially when they are uncalled for or mentioned often. I'd prefer to talk about more inspiring things!

  • My characters and stories are mostly based on slice-of-life settings that leans towards subtle dark fantasy. While I try to make sure my stories are mostly suitable for all viewers, there may be mentions/imagery of themes related to medical settings (needles, medication, hospital settings in general), mental health (ex: depression, suicide attempt, cognitive distortion) and cosmic horror ('fear of the unknown'). I try to keep those really subtle and hide them behind toggle spoilers on ToyHouse, but if you feel they may make you uncomfortable, please take care when viewing my content.

I WILL BLOCK IF YOU:

  • do not respect my boundaries. I do not appreciate being persistently called upon, or pressured into doing something for you. I am a human being with a busy schedule and a personal agenda. Please respect that I need time to myself.

  • show discourteous or malicious behavior. This includes hate towards other groups/minorities/race/etc, downright rudeness, harrassing, gaslighting, manipulation, scamming, violation of rights - anything you should not be doing to a fellow human being. Be respectful! I will block anyone who is being disrespectful of others.

  • mention and/or endorse pedophilia, even in fictional settings. Childlike characters said to be over 200 years old? BIG NOPE.

  • mention and/or endorse incest/unethical acts/other fetishes TO AN EXTENT. I accept that people may enjoy them in fictional settings, but it is definitely not my cup of tea, and makes me very uncomfortable. Recurrent mentions of these, especially in sfw places, may result in a block.

Commissions : Terms of service

  • I have the right to decline your order if I feel I cannot draw it or if your order goes against any personal values.

  • I only accept payment via Paypal. I will send you an invoice for you to pay through. (Ko-fi commissions are still under contemplation...!)

  • I ask for full payment before I start. I will not give refunds once I start on your commission. Please choose wisely before ordering!

  • Typical delivery time is 2 weeks to a month, though I always make sure to put commissions on top priority and prefer to get them done as quickly as my schedule allows. I may put a monthly limit on slots to prevent delays, depending on demand.

  • Feel free to ask any questions if things are unclear.

  • - large guns or heavy machinery

  • (I'm okay with shotguns and minor weapons, as long as you give me refs!)

  • - fetishes, gore/violence and other unethical/controversial themes

  • - bearded/hairy/muscular or chubby characters (I have nothing against different body types! I'm just not confident in doing commissions for body features I rarely draw.)

  • - other themes that I feel uncomfortable with (feel free to ask, I will let you know if I'm unable to work on them.)

POSTING & USE

  • I reserve all rights to the finished product and may use it for personal portfolio purposes (uploads to social media, commission info, etc).

  • You may post to your own accounts or edit/crop/otherwise use your commission as you like, as long as credit is given to @/PlatinaSi on DeviantArt (@/Platina_creari on Twitter, @/platinarts on Instagram) for the original art.
